22nd Journee des Retrouvailles at Cow Meadow Park, Saturday  July 28th, 2012

Dukerns Jean Louis Executive Advisor  ABAPEC is a mutual-aid, inter-confessional, and non-political organization.  Its purpose is to establish and foster closer links between individuals and families of Haitian origin who have migrated to the United States; assist in preserving their cultural origin; and facilitate their adjustment and development in foreign lands.

ABAPEC intends to engage in various humanitarian and charitable activities in the United States and in Haiti, to provide services to the underprivileged within those communities, paying particular attention to the youths by creating such programs as tutoring service, homework assistance and recreational activities to keep children off the streets after school hours while their parents are at work.  In the pursuit of these goals, ABAPEC will promote and develop among youths a sense of civicism and citizenry through appropriate lectures given by qualified elders in those communities.

ABAPEC recognizes as member any person who applies for membership, shares the Association’s philosophy, subscribes to the humanism and generosity expressed in the Association’s mission and pledges to uphold the Association’s By-Laws.
